Unity For Foundation was founded, and is currently funded by, a group of concerned, caring individuals who are united by a common goal to enhance the prospects for Global Peace through an improved spiritual and physical quality of life for everyone living on our planet (click here to read management bios).

We intend to achieve our mission by creating a global media and giving campaign that is economically viable, financially sustainable and fully accountable via a continuing series of high profile concert events and post-event philanthropy that features the highest degree of financial transparency and accountability ever achieved by a major benefit concert series. Unity has been conceived to enable “we the people” to be pro-active in making our voices heard and our actions felt in ways that help to solve the world's current major challenges.

We have initiated our campaign with a series of benefit concerts across the U.S. and Asia, ultimately to lead to our first mega concert to be held in the Middle East. To kick-off our national campaign, we held our first event on March 12th at the Los Angeles House of Blues starring an eclectic gathering of International Artists, and co-produced a second concert April 20, 2011 at the House of Blues in New Orleans starring Kevin Costner and his band as headliner, and supporting the victims of the BP Deepwater oil spill.

To kick-off our national campaign, we have held our first event on March 12th at the Los Angeles House of Blues starring an eclectic gathering of International Artists to support our first global cause: Peace in the Middle East. Our second concert was a co-production in support of Harmony-For-Health.org, a group dedicated raising aid for victims of the BP Deepwater Oilspill. Featuring Kevin Costner and his band Modern West as headliner, the concert took place the evening of April 20th, 2011 at New Orleans House of Blues.

In support of impact:
goals and objectives

To provide opportunity for impact to every individual and every community that seeks to have an impact on either specific local challenges or the achievement of global peace and quality of life

To provide the network and support environment that enables every person to have their voice valued and integrated into the process of setting the agendas relating to solving our major challenges.
To provide the mechanism through which each person is able to express their interests, desires, needs and values so that they have a real and useful voice in bringing positive impact to our planet.

To provide the rationale, justification and transparent methods for independent verification of how our contributions will be used, the benefits derived thereby, and the resulting outcomes.

To work with and cooperatively support other compatible community-based and ethically-directed nonprofit organizations – particularly those on the ground - who share similar missions, objectives and outcomes, and who recognize the need to be held to the highest ethical standards, and to be functionally accountable therein.

To design, build and implement a web and mobile capability that will meet the goals and objectives described above for the hundreds of millions of people we hope will become part of the UNITY solution.

the foundation

Unity For Foundation's (unity) mission is to emerge as a trusted concert-driven, ethically directed "community philanthropy" dedicated to generating quantifiably positive impact upon the world's greatest challenges.

We are building this global community by producing concerts and building an 'open source' web- and mobile-based marketing, fundraising and promotional social network that will allow us to link with existing populations of like-minded individuals while inserting financial accountability into all transactions.

Our goal is to enable "we the people" - whether as individuals or as members of corporations, organizations and institutions - to realize quantifiable impact on the social problems that our expanding communities so choose to address by focusing the immense intellectual power, media impact and financial resources we represent in a 100% financially transparent manner.

Our First Globally Broadcast Peace Concert:

In addition to local and global causes that have originated in association with outside groups Unity is working on its own key cause: the achievement of a shared Peace and stability across the greater Middle East.

In this regard our goals are to:

1. Be the first globally broadcast music event staged in the Middle East that brings together the region's religions, religious and political leaders, and most importantly, the peace-desiring masses with their favorite global and local musicians, in an event the communicates models for how "shared" Peace and quality of life might look across the region.

2. Stage the event at a location accessible toall.

3. Do so in a single cross-culturally rich festival setting that immerses all local and global visitors within a unified vision of achieving peace.

4. Raise significant capital for exponentially expanding on-the-ground peace and stability activities including, but not limited to, the promotion of models for what shared Peace and quality life can look like, cross cultural exchanges for the promotion of dialogue and understanding, education and scholarships, economic assistance etc. and reinforcing media messaging.

5. Prove that an investment in shared Peace, harmony and quality of life can truly make a difference.

Despite the ongoing challenges fomented in the current 'Arab Spring' Unity For Foundation has negotiated conditional government support, conditional production support from the Live Earth production company, tentative matching funds, and a venue for our Middle East Peace concert at the intersection of Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt - all contingent on diplomatic support and funding we are currently negotiating.

concerts for a cause

There are countless non-profits and other cause-based communities seeking novels ways to raise impact capital in today's most challenging financial environment. Few of them have the capacity to stage concerts of sufficient magnitude to raise meaningful capital for their cause. The Unity For concert fundraising platform enables worthy groups addressing a wide variety of causes to raise money in a transparent manner designed to optimize ROI. Unity's current series of unfolding or proposed concerts address issues such as aid for the victims of the BP Deepwater Oil Spill, aid for the victims of Japan's recent Tsunami, aid to the victims of the flooding of the Mississippi, and aid to America's Veterans.

outcomes

Live Aid, with over 400 million viewers in 60 countries, raised $253 million.

Live Earth had 2 billion viewers with stages on 7 continents.

the opportunity

While large-scale benefit causes have nearly always been noble in their original intent, they have been widely criticized for lack of a clear post-event finance strategy, an ongoing post-event giving platform and, particularly, sufficient financial transparency to completely fulfill the needs and expectations of the masses, global donors and participating celebrities. We have birthed Unity to address these gaps, reenergize donors and their faith philanthropy and eliminate 'giving fatigue'.

Unity For Foundation's    commitment

Maximize the amount of capital we are able to raise for any particular cause.

Maximize the quantifiably and sustainably positive impact for all such funds received to the benefit of targeted population or challenges for as long a period as possible post our concerts.

Maximize the degree of media attention we are able to deliver to natural and manmade challenges, and the degree of compassion and support we are able to deliver to the victims of those challenges.

Do all the above with an eye towards maximizing realized ROI for our donors small and large, and most uniquely.

Do all the above with our most earnest efforts at full transparency both with respect to the expense of our productions, and with the deployment of funds both autonomously and via third parties willing to share this same commitment to transparency.

beneficiaries

With the addition of each new member or partner to the Unity Team, and with each crisis, the target list for potential UnityFor Fundraising Concerts only grows.

Whether the challenges relate to creating Peace, helping the victims of natural disasters, protecting the environment, or honoring our vets, all represent egregious challenges to real people, our dear planet and our shared human spirit.

And the market tells us there is immeasurable opportunity for us to partner with existing non-profits and other concerned parties with a passionate cause, earnest commitment and complementary resources.

Indeed, with rare exception, this is our business model: we are approached by groups with existing assets, credibility, capital, commitment and a the desire to stage fundraising concerts – but lack the celebrity relationships, production capacity or other related skills and resources require to do so.

We bring to this conversation our own extensive experience in concert and media production; our access to talent, media and sponsors; and our life commitment at this stage of our lives to service and innovating in the domain of music-based philanthropy.

As Unity For Foundation moves into commercial operations we taken into consideration the following criterion when deciding which causes, partners and beneficiaries to support:

• Do we resonate with the cause?

• Do we believe we can recruit talent, producers, sponsor agent, media and other key players to resonate with – and deploy on a no-cost or greatly reduced basis - for this cause?

• Does the group inviting us to collaborate have sufficient seed capital to secure venue, initial talent commitments, initial key personnel (e.g., sponsorship, licensing, etc.)?

• Does the group have credible and executable capacity to deploy funds to measurable impact on targeted population or clearly defined challenge.

• Does the group share our commitment to full transparency on both production finance and the post-event deployment of funds raised?

• Is the group fully committed to philanthropy versus self-gain?

• Is the group committed to clear communications and harmonious collaboration?

We look forward to sharing impact with you.
